Allie Fairman Task 1: Update anonymous feedback form to ask about experiences with the leadership team and send out to general staff

for this task, I plan to edit the already created anonymous feedback form to pose questions in an extent to which you agree with format. the questions will be… to what extent do you agree or disagree with the following statements (with answer choices ranging from strongly agree to strongly disagree)

  • My leadership team (managers, LCs, head guards, conc mans) actively helps employees with expected daily tasks (cleaning, guarding, teaching lessons, cashiering, etc)
  • My leadership team (managers, LCs, head guards, conc mans) leads by example at in-services, all staff meetings, trainings, etc.
  • My leadership team (managers, LCs, head guards, conc mans) sets clear and early shift expectations
  • My leadership team (managers, LCs, head guards, conc mans) enforces expectations consistently (ex: tells all guards in the office to get off their phones, not just one person)
  • My leadership team (managers, LCs, head guards, conc mans) is present on shift (are they checking in with you consistently)

Allie Fairman Task 2: Create audits for leadership positions

With this task, Maddie and I will work together to clearly outline the expectations for all positions of leadership (I will do LCs, Maddie will do the rest). The expectations on the audits will be presented early on in the season to each member of leadership (maybe first leadership meeting). The importance of this is crucial, as it is presenting expectations early and clearly. The aquatics coordinator will then conduct these audits anonymously during a shift. For example: they may sit and silently audit a manager and head guard during a regular daily shift.

Related Meetings:

Allie Fairman: Meeting 1

during my meeting today with Maddie we both shared our ideas for the potential of this mentorship project. Maddie discussed a leadership audit with the intentions of creating a snapshot of the leadership teams abilities to do their jobs at any given time in a formalized way. I brought up key leadership principles (mainly leading by example and setting clear expectations early) and ways to implement them, as well as formulating a method for leadership staff to receive feedback on areas of excellence and improvement.

Information about the Goal

Allie Fairman arrived at their goal through a series of meetings and refinement. Learn how that process happened.

What should we improve?

The candidate chose items in the aquatics program and department to improve. Goals are broad targets that we will work towards. Every meeting and task done will be in service of that goal. Goals should be large enough to encompass many tasks. Goals may not be attainable. Goals are our guiding direction; our North Star.

Allie Fairman's brainstormed ideas:

improve initiative of leadership staff to fulfill all aspects of their job
create clear communication route between leadership and general staff
clearly outline daily leadership tasks and expectations
clarify division of responsibilities between leadership staff
