#2 – Regular check-ins and dedicating a time to improving weaknesses during in-services
Check-list (Would be evaluated within the last 10-15 minutes of an in-service and extra time would be utilized for what needs to be improved)

- What skills could you improve on? Do you have any questions?
#3 – New-hire mentors
A rehire guard is paired with a new hire, and they can explain the smaller details training doesn’t always have time for (List may change based on form results. This could also be a scavenger-hunt style game to spark interest.)
- How to log a life-jacket
- How to log first-aid
- How to attach/detach hoses and where they are located
- How to use pool vaccums/where they are
- How to use kiddie pool cleaner
- How to use humanity! (Knowing how to find what managers are on your shifts, where to pick up/trade shifts, how to take leave, and submitting proper unavailability is a key to success!) (Sam has videos on this too)
- Where to re-access training videos if you are feeling confused
#4 – Gaining Confidence when Encountering Patrons (tutorial/guidelines)
- Be respectful. Treating patrons with respect often results in them treating you likewise.
- Focus on actively listening with empathy.
- Create a friendly and open environment for the patron and others with a positive attitude.
- Understand their needs by asking questions.

- Project your voice so it is clear to the patron.
- Use a firm but polite tone.
- Be open to explaining WHY you whistled at a patron if they ask.
