The following items for each position should be documented by a supervisor and published before the candidate is ready for promotion. Once all items are complete then the candidate will be considered for the position.

Lesson Coordinator

  • Demonstrate competence in lesson Level Structure
  • Demonstrate competence in lesson plans (activities & challenges)
  • Demonstrate competence of quick test skills for all levels
  • Successful instructor evaluation: maintain attention of all swimmers
  • Successful instructor evaluation: conduct lesson with effective feedback (relevant to every swimmer attempt)
  • Successful instructor evaluation: speak in command language without “okay” or ?’s
  • Successful instructor evaluation: execution of unique lesson plan
  • Create a Mentorship Goal and complete two tasks in service of Goal

Concessions Manager

  • Demonstrate competence with pool pass system (printing, swiping, lookups)
  • Demonstrate competence with concessions food preparation, serving, cleaning
  • Demonstrate competence with addressing customer complaints, conflicts, and de-escalation
  • Conduct an in-service training (or segment) with supervision and review
  • Create a Mentorship Goal and complete two tasks in service of Goal

Head Guard

  • Pass a scan audit
  • Pass a live recognition drill
  • Participate in 10 in-service trainings
  • Conduct a scan audit on peer with supervision
  • Conduct a live recognition drill with supervision
  • Conduct an in-service training (or segment) with supervision and review
  • Create a Mentorship Goal and complete two tasks in service of Goal

Manager

  • Lead a self-planned and prepared in-service
  • Conduct at least 10 scan audits with coaching or remediation
  • Conduct at least 10 live recognition drills with coaching or remediation
  • Demonstrate competence in collaborative leadership by effectively getting staff to accomplish tasks
  • Serve as a consistent role-model by demonstrating excellence, accountability, and professionalism
  • Be endorsed by at least two members of leadership for promotion
  • Create a second Mentorship Goal and complete two tasks in service of Goal
