Related Tasks:
Task #1 – Aubrey: Create improved signage for food safety in concessions.
The goal is to make sure that all employees know how to log and check pizza temp to make sure it stays out of the danger zone. A sign that says wash before you glove. Sign of what can and can’t be touched with gloves.
Was the task completed: Yes
Task evaluation:

I think this is a really good improvement to concessions because many employees assume just wearing gloves is enough but then touch money or the floor and it defeats the purpose. Aubrey also proposed moving the gloves to a spot and putting the sign over it so everyone always knows where they are. The finished posters seem to address many of the problems in concessions and should improve the function and safety of the concessions booth.
Task #2 – Aubrey: Creating a Microsoft Form to help with opening and closing of Concessions.
Was the task completed: Yes
Task evaluation:
To ensure employees are completing their responsibilities while working in Concessions, I have created Microsoft Forms in regard to both pools and their own components. Both have options for what shift you are working on and require that tasks were completed before submission.
Related Meetings:
Aubrey Korzyniewski: Meeting 1; to plan ideas and layout improvements that could be made.
Action items:
Create the signs to be posted in concessions hopefully we can see an improved effort from employees to follow the rules and better food safety will be practiced. She also proposed an idea for the next meeting to create an opening checklist similar to the closing one to make sure everything is turned on and properly prepared for the day at Mitchell.
Aubrey Korzyniewski: Meeting 2
In today’s meeting we discussed the completion of the new food safety, freezer, and glove signs. These signs were made to help with the improvement of following guidelines and maintaining safer conditions for both employees and patrons. You will find the signs posted within both Mitchell and Deerspring Concessions. Highlighted from these is the importance of 140 degree temperature monitoring for pizza, making sure freezer doors are completely shut, and that gloves are being used to touch only items appropriate.
Action items:
Looking to Meeting #3, I will be creating Microsoft Forms in replacement of our current checklists within the offices. These forms will be used to monitor employee competence and any issues occurring in concessions. Overall, the forms will hold cleaning tasks, restock issues, complaints, and any other general concessions notes. Mitchell and Deerspring will have different forms based on what needs to be done and what is kept at each facility.
Aubrey Korzyniewski : Meeting 3
Today’s meeting was used to go over and review my second task, creating a Microsoft Form for bettering opening and closing procedures. We discussed the benefits of implementing these forms and the ability to hold employees to their responsibilities easier. There are now 4 forms in place that will be used at both pools, outlining duties and overall information.
Action items:
Looking to Meeting #4, the intent is to finalize my overall goal and define whether or not I completed my goal throughout my meetings and tasks. I will approach Meeting #4 with continued confidence and motivation in regards to bettering our Aquatic facilities and our outlook on the public. It is important to push for bettered conditions and rules for our staff, as how we act and perform our job not only shines light on us, but the Deerfield Park District as a whole.

What should we improve?
The candidate chose items in the aquatics program and department to improve. Goals are broad targets that we will work towards. Every meeting and task done will be in service of that goal. Goals should be large enough to encompass many tasks. Goals may not be attainable. Goals are our guiding direction; our North Star.
Aubrey Korzyniewski's brainstormed ideas:
Prevent freezer malfunctions
prevent warmer mishaps
ensure pizza has high enough internal temp
encouraging cashiers and concessions to ask questions
call in help for angry patrons
ensure continuty of pool rules
