Dax Greenberg: Purchase products to reduce water waste caused by hose issues.

Candidate: Dax Greenberg

Related Goal: Dax Greenberg: Enhance Safety of patrons as well as increasing the thoroughness of pool cleaning to maintain professionalism at pool facilities

Question 1: What will I do to achieve this task?
– Product 1: These metal connectors will help remove the need for twisting and enable you to quickly snap hoses and or spray nozzles together. This product is designed to be lightweight and long lasting. This will result in a drip-free seal that is simple to connect and remove.

– Product 2: By using teflon tape, this product is a thin band of tape that is waterproof and elastic which is meant for creating a watertight seal on ends of pipes or hoses. To apply this product to hose, we will wrap this tape around the end of the hose spigots to cover up the leaky parts of the hose nozzles.

– Product 3: Having a splash guard that covers over the hose faucet/spigot to prevent leaking and spraying of water. This product will snap over the hose faucet which will shield the guards from getting sprayed on or drips when turning on or off the hose during cleaning shifts.

Dax Greenberg Meeting 2:

Today, Leila and I met and discussed the three products we will be using for both pool facilities involving the hoses as well as designing our specific task idea and recorded it through the pool software. We confirmed all three of the products and then made a google doc with the needed information with each product regarding the cost, where to find the product, how many products we will need for each pool, etc. Below is the link with products: mentorship product sheet, Dax G

Action items:

As we concluded our meeting, the next steps that Leila and I discussed were that we will schedule our next meeting next Monday. By then, I will have completed the google doc with the products and needed information of each product for approval and purchasing by Jeff. In preparation for leila and I next meeting, I will go to each pool and see how many products I will need as well as finding the best products in a good price range for us to purchase. On Monday, Leila and I will review the google doc and submit to Jeff. Once the products arrive, I will then focus on my second task which focuses on implementing these products in the pool facilities as well as training all staff on how to properly use these. This will allow the staff to reduce the repeated instructions on usage and eliminating the misuse of these tools.

Meeting 3: Dax Greenberg

In preparation for todays meeting, I went to both pool facilities and took count of both the wall faucets and the in-ground faucets. I needed to take pictures of the threads on the male and female ends of the hose faucets. I went to HomeDepot to see which quick connect attachments we needed for our hose faucets as well as finding the teflon tape. I then went online to research the products that were the easiest to order and fit the best while also being cost-efficient. I organized these products into an organized spreadsheet that included the quantity of each product as well as the cost for these. On Monday when Leila and I met, I showed her the spreadsheet to look over the links and products to finalize the chart to send to Jeff. Leila was pleased with the results I brought her and we drafted an email to send to Jeff and attached the spreadsheet.

Action items:

The next step is to complete my second task which is to apply the products to both of the pools once delivered and make sure they are efficiently working. In addition, I hope to be able to lead a station at an all staff meeting to demonstrate and explain how to properly use these products so they are handled in the proper way.

Task Evaluation:

Dax put in a lot of work to this project and it has been so incredible to see it come together. He did a lot of research on not only the internet, but went into HomeDepot and looked through the various products. He then decided on the best three that he believed would be best for helping reduce the leakage in the hoses we have at both pools. He spent time coming in on his weekend to take inventory of how much of each product we needed. It is clear that Dax is very passionate about this and it is not only shown in this project, but at every single shift he is at. He came into this project with as much passion and enthusiasm as he does on his shifts. I am very pleased with all his hard work.
