Hope Mocogni: Meeting 2

I went over my in-progress escape instruction sheet with Leila. We also found corresponding videos for some of the methods.

Action items:

We went over a couple of different types of lifeguard escapes. I started a document with step-by-step instructions for each type of save. Additionally, since all of the training dates had been posted on Humanity, we looked ahead at possible trainings where I could teach these escape strategies. We want to have an escape station running during at least 2 rehire trainings.

Leila improved my document with the step-by-step instructions for the escapes. Since the training dates were posted on Humanity we went in and looked at the different days I could go in. We also talked about what would be the most effective way for me to implement these methods.

Action items:

I finalized the document with all the step-by-step instructions and found corresponding videos for each escape. Leila approved! We also finalized the 2 rehire trainings that will include an escape station: 5/20 and 5/24 at Derp.

 

The next step is to implement the escapes into training! We finalized two training sessions I could have a station at.

Lifeguard Escapes

Since we haven’t frequently gone over lifeguard escapes, I wanted a way to regulate how leadership staff was teaching it. I did research on the Red Cross website and found videos for each type of escape. I then wrote down the 4 different types of escapes plus step-by-step instructions for each one. To make it available to all leadership I added it into Sharepoint.
